Nephi Zhang

Research Manager, Vertical Industry Research and Consulting, IDC China

Nephi Zhang is a Research Manager in IDC's China Vertical Research and Consulting Group, based in Beijing. She focuses on the China Consumer Devices and Digital Home research, which tracks trends in digital audio, digital camera, digital camcorder, digital TV, panel TV, set-top boxes, digital entertainment content and home networking. Her responsibilities include market sizing and forecasting, analyzing consumer behavior and trends for markets and the industries. Nephi is also involved in customized research projects covering technology and process work flow used in the retail industry. This includes in-depth analysis of the critical components in the supply chain, enterprise demand intelligence systems, store and multi-channel operations, and consumer trends.

Prior to joining IDC, Nephi was a business analysis manager for marketing operation at LG Electronics for five years. Her role was to identify, develop business strategy and operating plan, as well as, marketing and business development activities. In addition, she utilized market research to define potential markets and develop new business models. Previous to LG, Nephi worked at Gome, a Chinese electrical appliance retailer, where she was responsible for competitive intelligence research and industry analysis.

Nephi holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology from Beijing Normal University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Social and Economic Behaviors at Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China.
