This IDC Retail Insights Perspective takes a look at a recent IBM event in the context of the renaissance of the store. In November, a number of IDC Insights analysts attended IBM's Global Business Services Insights event on "Transforming the Front Office" in New York City. The event provided a good opportunity to take a closer look at how IBM's services organization is taking to market its Smarter Commerce and Front-Office Transformation businesses. IDC Retail Insights found a number of synergies between IBM's point of view (POV) on front-office transformation and ours that the reimmersion of digital technologies within the store is transforming retail.
