This IDC Retail Insights Perspective provides observations on and analysis of IBM's second annual Smarter Commerce conference in Orlando, Florida. The conference was better organized, and attended, than IBM's inaugural event in San Diego last year, and the message from IBM was much more complete and comprehensive — given both the internal progression of the company's messaging and the aggressive acquisition of key parts of the overall portfolio.
