Overview
This IDC Retail Insights report assesses IT operating budget dynamics, channel selection, and vendor selection criteria in 2012 in the Western European retail industry. This report leverages and presents the key findings of the IDC Retail Insights Survey, carried out in 2H11 in the top 5 Western European countries ( France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and U.K.), among 240 retail companies with more than 20 employees.
"According to our survey results and discussions with end users, Western European retailers are approaching 2012 with a positive attitude. Retail companies will try to increase the productivity of their IT budgets by using direct purchase channels as well as selecting IT vendors whose products and services are marketed at very competitive prices," said Ivano Ortis, head of IDC Retail Insights International.
