Milan Kalal

Milan Kalal, as Senior Research Analyst for IDC CEMA Vertical Markets, is responsible for quantitative research, IT spending forecast models, and client consulting engagements in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Focusing on vertical markets and the SMB segment, the cross-technology nature of his position has enabled him to develop a balanced understanding of the hardware, software, and IT services markets.
In addition to his primary responsibility for vertical markets, Kalal is also the lead analyst for the Energy Insights program in Central and Eastern Europe. He has in-depth knowledge of industry-specific IT drivers, trends, and procurement patterns, particularly among the region's utility companies.
Prior to joining IDC CEMA in 2009, Kalal worked for seven years as a project manager in the banking sector, specializing in strategic marketing. He has experience with implementing customer insight strategies and tools, including CRM, data mining, geomarketing, and competitive intelligence.
Kalal holds an MBA degree from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK, and a BA degree from Anglo-American College in Prague.
