Roman Maceska

Associate Vice President Research, IDC CEMA, Systems and Infrastructure Solutions

Roman Maceška joined IDC CEMA in 1998. He oversees multiple CEMA regional research programs in the area of Systems and Infrastructure Solutions, setting the research direction and plans, implementing, and developping IDC CEMA's hardware and systems research portfolio. He leads the team of analysts responsible for IDC CEMA's Personal Computer, Computer Server and Systems, Workstation, and Storage services for Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East and Africa markets.

In addition to his responsibilities for Systems, Maceška heads IDC CEMA's consulting activities related to vertical and SMB markets, advising on entry strategy, product competitor analysis, distribution channel evaluation, and consumer IT adoption. Through his consulting work, Maceška has gained a balanced perspective on the industry and a valuable understanding of the relationships between customer needs and the different technologies being deployed.

Prior to joining IDC, Maceška worked as a product manager for the telecommunications company BCH Enterprises, overseeing the development of several marketing strategies for various projects.
